Since 1993, The Pride Team created the Event – Saturday in the Park. After years of working to improve and increase the possibilities in southwest Washington for LGBTQ+ Folk, we have finally created the SW WA PRIDE ALLIANCE – a 501.c.3 Non Profit Organization.
Saturday in the Park Event was initially conceived from the song “Saturday in the Park” by Chicago: a celebration of life. The event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. We strive to educate people about their LGBTQ+ Neighbors, families and the issues surrounding their lives.
Each year the event grows and shares more of the community in Clark County. We work all year round to provide a forum for the talent, skills, and strength of its citizens matched up with the support and informational services of our region. WE NEED YOU! This event is expensive and brings a large crowd. Plan on joining us!
The Event is held on the Second Saturday in July at Esther Short Park located in downtown Vancouver Washington. We have local, regional, state, national and international Groups, Businesses, Support Services, Medical Testing, Religious Families coming together to illustrate love for all.
“Saturday In The Park” is the largest diversity event of the year in Vancouver. Each summer our volunteers create a friendly, family focused atmosphere for all ages to enjoy. One third of all the participants are under the age of 24.
The Event Gates OPEN at 7.30 am for Vendors. The Event itself opens for all at 10 AM. It is a FREE EVENT and OPEN TO ALL. Please be considerate of our neighbors and event participants. Between three and five thousand visitors seeking information on resources, educational support, local businesses, events and community pride in our area.
The SW WA Pride Alliance Organization is a 501.c.3 non-profit group. Each year we depend upon our sponsors, volunteers, and the generosity of the public in order to provide the standard of quality and excitement our neighbors and friends expect. All of our organizers are volunteers, and we work hard to keep our costs down. Still we do have some costs such as park rentals, fencing, various amenities, entertainment, insurance, and many other costs. The event costs about $15,000 to $20,000 each year.
To support this event, we must raise the funds needed. One of our most important sources is from our sponsors. Our sponsors provide the largest portion of the funds we require to make this event a success. We have several levels of sponsorship available, and appreciate your interest.
